Easter Camps

Our camps throughout the UK have involved over 250 players learning new skills, making new friends and having fun. We were lucky to have a number of Ex GB U21 Youth players as coaches and Scotland International players coaching the potential International players of the future.

Unfortunately due to freak weather conditions the N.Ireland camp had to be cancelled but we are looking forward to having a successful Summer camp in August.

Check out our galleries, Facebook and Twitter for photos and videos from the Easter camps!

Coaches in Brazil

Five Skoolsports coaches are representing Scotland at the World Series Round 2 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in March. Leigh Fawcett, Susan McGilveray, Ali Howie, Nicola Skrastin and goalkeeper Amy Gibson are part of the Scotland squad who face games against Brazil, Chile, USA, Trinidad & Tobago and Uruguay over the 10 day round robin tournament. The top two teams qualify for Round 3 which sees the top 16 teams in the world compete for 12 places at the World Cup in 2014.

Currently, there is no live streaming for the tournament but you can keep updated on Skoolsports twitter and facebook. Tournament information is available on the FIH website.

5 Years of Skoolsports Hockey Camps

In 2013 Skoolsports are proud to celebrate our 5th Anniversary of elite hockey coaching. Since the first camp held in April 2008 with 15 children in Edinburgh we have coached over 2,000 players across Europe in Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Northern Ireland. We pride ourselves on the high standard and select the top coaches from around the world to provide with players with a unique coaching experience, to meet new friends and have lots of fun.

To celebrate our 5 year anniversary we intend to make it the best year yet with camps in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Spain to make it a memorable year. We will look to attract top players/coaches from the London 2012 Olympics to ensure players have the opportunity to learn from the best players in the world.

In the 5 years of Skoolsports hockey camps we have seen our players develop and make big strides towards reaching their potential and are proud to say that the following has been achieved by Skoolsports players.

  • 1 player has recently played for Great Britain U21 at the Youth Olympics
  • 2 players have been selected for Scotland Senior Women’s squad
  • 8 players have been selected for the Scotland U21 training squad
  • 13 players have represented Scotland U18
  • 16 players have represented Ulster U18
  • 5 players have represented Ireland U18
  • 20 players have represented Scotland at U16
  • 9 players have represented Ulster at U16
  • 4 players have represented Ireland at U16
  • 40 players have played for East/West/Midland District U16/U18

What a Summer!

Skoolsports was lucky to be caught up in the 2012 sporting whirlwind this Summer. We ran successful camps in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and N.Ireland with over 400 children benefiting from International players and coaches from Scotland, Spain, Ireland, Great Britain. New skills were learnt and friendships made playing the sport we all love!

Skoolsports brought competition winner Ethan McCulla to the Olympics to watch Netherlands (Olympic silver medallists) v Korea and Australia (Olympic Bronze medallists) v Pakistan at the Riverbank Arena which was a once in a lifetime experience for Ethan and us!

Please check out the gallery for photos from our Summer camps and visit our Facebook page for up to date information on camps and whats happening in the world of hockey.
